While no tool can do the learning for you, using the right tools can help you excel and be productive. Some of the best web based tools available are from Google. Google Notebook allows you to add, edit, comment, label, and print notes you take in your browser.

1_gn_new.pngTo use Google Notebook you need to have a Google account. Registering for a google account will allow you to use all Google’s services. Once you have registered you will be presented with an empty notebook.

To add notes you will first need to add a new notebook by clicking “Create a new notebook…” You will be prompted with a text box to name your new notebook. I will just stick with the default names for this tutorial. After naming your new notebook click the OK button or hit enter.

You will then be presented with a new line in the notebook you created. You have the option of typing, pasting, or adding a new sub-section to the current note in this notebook. You are also Offered some basic formatting options like adding a hyperlink and removing the formatting from the current note.

To add a new section in the current notebook click the “section” link and you will be prompted with a text box to name the new section. Once again I will just use the default names.

The left box will show an outline of the new notebook we have been working on. My notebook is there with two sections.

Now lets add a note to section one of our new notebook. Select the section on the left pane and simply type in the box.

You can add labels to any note to keep them organized. This can be very helpful as you fill up your notebook with information. Be sure to be as clear as possible when making your label system, you will thank yourself later.

If you want to print off your notes to use away from your computer, Google notebook allows you to form your notes into a simple and clean html plage suitable for printing.

Hopefully, with this tutorial you will be able to use Google notebook as an effective study tool. If you have any questions or want to see any part of this article expanded do not hesitate to post in the comments.
